British mountaineers Paul Ramsden and Tim Miller have been awarded a 2023 Piolet d'Or for their ascent of the previously unclimbed Jugal Spire (AKA Dorje Lhakpa II, 6563m) via a 1200m route on the north face called The Phantom Line ED+, which they made in May 2022. The annual Piolets d'Or awards recognise significant new ascents in mountaineering, taking style, innovation, commitment and respect for both the environment and local people into consideration. Given the shortlist, this seemed to me the obvious choice. Chapeau to both!

So Paul Ramsden has five Piolets d'Or, is that a record or does someone have 6 or more ?

There are lines and there are LINES! Outstanding.

In reply to Doug:

Pretty sure Ramsden has the most with 5, he previously shared the record of 4 with Marko Prezelj.  Mick Fowler has 3, I guess a few people have 3.

In reply to UKC News:

Well done and very well deserved! Congrats to all the nominees. Its a shame there can only be one winner as all the nominees were very worthy contenders.
