The locations and dates for the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifier Series have been announced by the International Olympic Committee. Two multi-sport events will take place in Shanghai in May (16-19) and Budapest in June (20-23) 2024 to select 30 Sport Climbing athletes for the Paris 24 Olympic Games—the final event on the qualification pathway. 

48 Boulder & Lead athletes and 32 per sex in Speed will qualify for the OQS, based on 2023 World Rankings. The top 10 men and women in Boulder & Lead and the top five in Speed at the end of the two events will earn quota places.

Each held over four days, the urban events will combine qualification competitions in BMX, breaking, skateboarding and sport climbing with music, art and culture. 

IOC President Thomas Bach said:

Shanghai and Budapest perfectly align with the concept of the Olympic Qualifier Series, serving as the ideal backdrop for an exciting new chapter in the Olympic Movement. The Series promises an unforgettable Olympic experience for both athletes and fans, with the conclusion on Olympic Day adding a special touch of celebration to the Series."
