Jonathan Griffith
To many UKC users Jon Griffith will need little or no introduction. Over the past few years Jon's stunning photography has featured heavily throughout the site, regularly achieving the Photo of the Week and currently occupying the No.1 spot in our Photo Galleries.

Jon is in the process of Crowd Funding his first book - Alpine Exposures - which is to be a coffee table book that will showcase his work over the last ten years. True to Jon's work ethic the book only shows photos taken in real situations in order to offer readers an in-depth experience of the world of extreme mountain sports. Featuring shots from around the European Alps from the Eiger North Face to Mont Blanc, there are detailed captions accompanying every shot- there is a real focus here on inspirational photography not just eye candy.

In Jon's own words "Its definitely a visual story based book rather than 200 random images. So there's a chapter on classic hard climbs as well as a chapter of my more interesting photoshoots and what goes on behind them to get the shots you often see"

The book currently has 5 days left on it's Indiegogo Crowd Funding Page, with a variety of options ranging from £40 to £150. If you're not already convinced then here's a selection of some of the images featured throughout the book.

If you are, then click here to place your order.

Jon will be appearing at this years Kendal Mountain Festival alongside world famous alpinist Ueli Steck, there will be more information on this years line-up coming out soon.

Thanks Tuborg, and thanks all for the support. We broke through the start up amount last night but the book actually costs almost double to make so any extra purchases from now on are still really appreciated! Jon

The glacial ice cave photo is mesmerising. I still can't work out what or how. Good luck with the book, I think we all aspire to take even one shot like this in a lifetime.
