Adam Ondra has flashed Peščena Ura, 9a, at Sopota, Slovenia.

The route was first climbed in 2020 by 8C boulderer, 2018 IFSC Bouldering World Cup winner, and Sopota local, Jernej Kruder.

Adam's flash of the route is his seventh flash at 9a or harder. Of these, four have been 9a onsights, and three (including Peščena Ura) have been flashes, including a groundbreaking flash of Super Crackinette in 2018, the world's first 9a+ flash.

Apart from Adam, only one other climber - Alex Megos - has flashed a route at 9a or harder.

Adam is yet to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, and will be in Laval, France, this weekend trying to earn a qualifying place at the second time of asking.

'European qualification competition in Laval is getting closer' Adam shared on Instagram, 'so I decided to test my shape on the rock'.

'I visited the home crag of Jernej Kruder, Sopota, Slovenia. There are two 9a lines sharing the same finish but different start'.

Jernej Kruder on Peščena Ura, 9a

'First, I tried In Time 9a, which has a huge dyno as a first move. I missed it on my onsight try, so I moved to the left under Peščena Ura 9a, I was shown the moves by Jernej Kruder himself and surprised myself with a flash'.

'The first crux features a powerful and coordination-demanding dyno that I am super proud of flashing! Thanks, Jernej, for putting up the routes together with Jakob Bizjak. What a great day'.
